Specification

In the application of steel plate leveling machines, there is no unified national standard for the mandatory classification of thin, medium, and thick plates. The industry formulates general rules based on plate thickness, leveling process difficulty, and equipment adaptability, with slight differences among different manufacturers and fields. The mainstream classifications and adaptation requirements are as follows:

Thin plates:
≤ 3mm (ultra-thin plates in the precision leveling field are ≤ 1.5mm); mostly low-carbon steel, stainless steel thin plates, etc., which are prone to deformation and have large springback, requiring high precision for leveling roller parameters and surface finish; suitable for 11-23 roll precision leveling machines with roller diameters of φ20-φ50mm to ensure no indentation and eliminate micro-deformation.

Medium plates:
3-14mm (3-20mm in the heavy machinery field); covering carbon steel, low-alloy structural steel, etc., with medium rigidity, requiring sufficient leveling force to overcome internal stress; suitable for 8-17 roll ordinary multi-roll / four-high leveling machines with roller diameters of φ50-φ120mm, and some models support independent driving of upper and lower rolls.

Thick plates:
> 14mm (extra-thick plates in some industries are > 20mm); mostly high-strength low-alloy steel, boiler and pressure vessel plates, etc., with high rigidity and strong deformation resistance, requiring large roller diameters and rolling force; suitable for 6-11 roll heavy-duty / ultra-heavy-duty leveling machines with roller diameters of φ120-φ300mm, the frame is made of integral welded / cast steel, equipped with high-power motors and hydraulic pressing systems, and some are equipped with backup rolls to improve the rigidity of the work rolls.
